Three Legged Dawg (3LD) came to be in the winter of 2006 when two long time, intermittently estranged friends realized they lived 2 blocks from each other on Gainesville's Eastside and had very similar musical inclinations. Krissy Mae had a practice space that was begging for a new project to be born within it's soundproofed walls and Billy Ray showed up with a handful of songs and 3LD was born.

The band made their premiere at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Gainesville, Florida; playing one song during the Sunday service in what was the first electric amplified performance allowed in the place. The song was a mash-up of "This Little light Of Mine" and "Worried Man Blues" with some original lyrics sandwiched in-between. The band also got it's first review on that day during soundcheck: "People with hearing aids say it hurts".

3LD was unleashed to the general music/bar going populace of Gainesville when they opened up for Scott H. Biram at Gainesville's Sidebar in February of 2007. 3LD has played more than 50 shows since and has opened for the Dex Romweber Duo and the Zydepunks; hosted numerous touring acts which otherwise may have passed Gainesville by; played the Deland Original Music Festival; travelled to Atlanta, Jacksonville and the Daytona area; played benefits for WGOT community powered radio, the Cotton Club in Gainesville, the Gainesville Roller Rebels women's flat track roller derby league, the Civic Media Center and various other local causes; as well as shows at numerous local venues. 3LD has also received favorable quotes in the Gainesville Sun as well as Satellite magazine and was featured in an article published in the Independent Florida Alligator. In May of 2008, 3LD released their first full length CD "Malt Lick'er" featuring 14 original songs.

We have been featured on 100.5 The Buzz's local music show, Jaxrock's The Scene With Tattoo Todd, WUFT FM, and numerous internet radio programs. 3LD also has a song on the WGOT Anniversary compilation CD put out by No Idea Records.
